Account types explained: parent and child locations
Learn how your account structure works and where to go to manage applications, payment plans, and location-specific tasks.
Parent accounts
A parent account acts as a central hub for managing all of your associated child account locations. From the parent account you can:
👥Application Overview |
💳Payment Plans |
🏢Location Management |
| View applications across locations | View and manage activated payment plans across all locations | Oversee all child account locations, including user management |
Parent accounts are non-transactional. You cannot create new applications directly from a parent account. All application creation must be done at the individual location level.
The parent account is purpose-built as a management layer, it isn't designed to create or process transactions directly. Additionally, every application must be linked to a specific location for compliance and reporting purposes. This means applications can only be created by logging in to the relevant child account location.
Child Accounts
A child account is tied to a single location. Unlike the parent account, child accounts are fully transactional but only within their own location. From a child account you can:
📃Create Applications |
👥View applications |
💳Payment Plans |
| Submit new applications for a singular location | View applications across locations | View and manage activated payment plans within a single location |
Child accounts are location-scoped. You can only access data and applications belonging to your own location. Other locations' information, and parent-level settings like payment plans, are not accessible from a child account.
Accessing Multiple Locations
Some users have access to more than one location. If this applies to you, you can toggle between locations without needing to fully log out and back in.
Users with access to multiple locations will find a dropdown available upon login

They will also see a dropdown in the upper-right corner of the Provider Portal menu. This toggle allows them to use a single login to switch between and access multiple locations.
